Tao Fong Shan Christian Cemetery accepts applications for Christians and their family members.<\/p>\n

Visitors of all faiths are welcome to pay their respects, provided that they respect the Christian nature of the Cemetery. Visits should focus on remembering the deceased, and ritual worship or offerings are not permitted.[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”What documents are required when applying?” custom_font_container=”tag:h5|text_align:left” use_custom_heading=”true”]<\/p>\n

Under the Cemetery\u2019s current application procedures, family members arranging an initial burial must make an appointment to complete the burial authorisation process and prepare the documents required for their particular case.<\/p>\n

These generally include:<\/p>\n

  • The deceased\u2019s identity document;<\/li>\n
  • Death certificate;<\/li>\n
  • Relevant burial permit or authorisation issued by the appropriate government department;<\/li>\n
  • The applicant\u2019s identity document; and<\/li>\n
  • Any other supporting documents or letters of authorisation required for the particular case.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Burial arrangements may proceed only after the application has been approved and the relevant burial authorisation has been issued by the Cemetery.<\/p>\n

    Families are often handling funeral arrangements, a Christian funeral or memorial service, death registration and other formalities at the same time.       [\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”How long is the tenure?” custom_font_container=”tag:h5|text_align:left” use_custom_heading=”true”]For renewable burial plots, the initial tenure is 20 years. It may subsequently be renewed for periods of 10 years at a time.[\/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Can family members be interred in the same burial plot?” custom_font_container=”tag:h5|text_align:left” use_custom_heading=”true”]<\/p>\n

      Additional interment in an existing burial plot may be permitted, subject to the Cemetery\u2019s regulations and completion of the relevant application procedures.<\/p>\n

      The current Cemetery Regulations<\/em> and Application Procedures<\/em> specify the eligible family relationships. These include parents, spouses, children and certain other designated relatives. Applicants must provide proof of the family relationship and documents relating to the existing burial plot.<\/p>\n
